The foundations of Altun Gıda were laid in the 1980s in İskenderun, Hatay, by Zeki Altun, through agricultural and commercial activities. What began as a trading business soon took a new direction when clients started requesting fresh fruits and vegetables. In response to these demands, Altun began sourcing products and eventually rented a production facility. By working with contract farmers in the Hatay and Çukurova regions, he expanded production capacity and later established his own farms.

Zeki Altun describes their pivotal decision in 2011:

“We made a significant difference at a critical point. We explained to farmers the harms of pesticide use, but we couldn’t achieve the desired results. That’s when we decided to begin production ourselves. By exporting products that met European standards, we distinguished ourselves from our competitors.”

This approach became the true turning point in the company’s story.

Today, Altun Gıda exports in full compliance with net exporter standards to markets across the European Union, as well as Russia, the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ukraine, the Far East, and the Middle East.

Founded in 1981 in İskenderun, Hatay, Altun Gıda is now one of Turkey’s leading companies in the export of fresh fruits and vegetables.
