
Altun Gıda Accelerates Strategic Growth Through the Acquisition of Seğmen Kardeşler Gıda
- Following approval from the Turkish Competition Authority, Altun Gıda, together with GMS Yatırım Holding and Ümit Gümüş, has completed the first phase of its acquisition of Seğmen Kardeşler Gıda Üretim ve Ambalaj Sanayi A.Ş. The transaction provides for the acquisition of a 74.85% equity stake in the company.
- Upon completion of the first phase of the share transfer, Altun Gıda acquired management control of Seğmen Kardeşler Gıda. Commenting on the acquisition, Anıl Altun, Vice Chairman of the Board of Altun Gıda, said: “This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our long-term growth strategy and further advances our ambition of building a globally integrated food company.”
Following approval from the Turkish Competition Authority, the acquisition of a 74.85% stake in Seğmen Kardeşler Gıda Üretim ve Ambalaj Sanayi A.Ş., a company founded in 1938, by Altun Gıda, GMS Yatırım Holding and Ümit Gümüş will be completed in two phases.
Effective from 30 June 2026, the first phase of the transaction resulted in Altun Gıda A.Ş. acquiring TRY 30,000,000 nominal value of Class A shares and TRY 14,750,000 nominal value of Class B shares, while GMS Yatırım Holding A.Ş. acquired TRY 5,000,000 nominal value of Class A shares and TRY 39,750,000 nominal value of Class B shares. Following completion of the first phase, Altun Gıda and GMS Yatırım Holding together secured 71.056% of the voting rights, obtaining management control of Seğmen Kardeşler Gıda Üretim ve Ambalaj Sanayi A.Ş.
In the second phase of the transaction, GMS Yatırım Holding A.Ş. will acquire a further TRY 1,000,000 nominal value of Class A shares and TRY 16,632,610 nominal value of Class B shares, while Ümit Gümüş will acquire TRY 26,850,000 nominal value of Class B shares.
The acquisition represents a significant milestone in Altun Gıda’s long-term growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable value creation and its ambition to build a globally integrated food company.
Strategic Expansion into Branded Food
Guided by its “From Agriculture to Life Through Nature” approach, Altun Gıda continues to grow with a focus on quality, trust, sustainability and technology. Through this acquisition, the company is expanding beyond its core fresh produce business into branded packaged food categories, supporting its strategy to build a more diversified and higher value-added business portfolio.
The transaction will also enable Altun Gıda to leverage its strong export platform and integrated supply chain capabilities to strengthen its presence in the domestic market through branded consumer products. In parallel, the company aims to accelerate the international expansion of Seğmen Gıda’s brand portfolio by introducing its products to new markets and broadening its global reach.
Over the longer term, the acquisition is expected to enhance the international presence, market access and competitiveness of Turkish food brands, while supporting Altun Gıda’s ambition to become a globally integrated food company.
